eos Organic Lip Balm Review- Strawberry Sorbet

eos Organic Lip Balm Review- Strawberry Sorbet

Product Review

For this eos Organic Lip Balm review I tried the strawberry sorbet flavor. I purchased a single eos lip balm sphere at Target for $2.99.

I first found out about eos (evolution of smooth) lip balms from my nieces. I thought they were carrying around colorful Easter eggs. But they corrected me. “No Auntie, it’s lip glow!”

These egg shaped lip balms would make a perfect addition to an Easter basket. For more Easter ideas, read about DIY Easter Egg Dye Recipes.

Warning: Please keep eos lip balm spheres away from small children. Their size and shape make them a choking hazard.

The eos smooth lip balm sphere in strawberry sorbet has a score of 3, moderate hazard, in Skin Deep. The ingredients of concern are Limonene, Linalool, and Unspecified natural flavor.

Limonene has a score of 6, moderate hazard, with the concerns being developmental/ reproductive toxicity, ecotoxicology, allergies/ immunotoxicity, irritation (skin, eyes, or lungs), and use restrictions. Linalool has a score of 5, moderate hazard, with the concerns being allergies/ immunotoxicity and use restrictions. The ingredients list did not specify exactly which natural flavor was used, so skin deep rated it 4, moderate hazard, for unspecified flavor, with miscellaneous concerns.

Packaging

The packaging is what makes eos organic lip balm spheres unique. The lip balm comes in a colored plastic container that is shaped similar to an egg. When you twist off the top lid, you reveal the lip balm, which is shaped like an egg yoke!

eos also offers smooth stick lip balms, which come in regular lip balm tubes. But if you choose that option, you are missing out on what makes eos lip balms so cool!

Promises

eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

Directions

Twist off top. Pucker up. Smooth on. Smile.

Observations

As soon as I twisted off the cap, I noticed a delicious strawberry smell! And that wonderful scent is coming from natural flavors and strawberry fruit extract. The lip balm also has a sweet taste, from Stevia extract.

Effectiveness

The eos organic lip balm goes on extremely smooth. It leaves lips soft for a long time. I usually only need to re-apply after eating or drinking.

Rating 4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

eos organic lip balm in strawberry sorbet flavor earns its first star for containing 100% natural ingredients. It also contains 95% organic ingredients.

The eos lip balm sphere loses out on one star for not having eco-friendly packaging. As cute as the egg-shaped sphere looks, it is excessive plastic packaging.

eos lip balm earns another star for being effective at keeping lips soft and smooth.

It earns another star for being a good value for your money. The price I paid at Target of $2.99 per one lip balm (.25oz or 7g) is right around the normal price for natural lip balms. Natural versions tend to be about twice as much as lip balms made from petrolatum and synthetic ingredients.

eos strawberry sorbet earns its final star for being a pleasure to use. I love the strawberry scent, sweet taste, and smooth texture. Plus the sphere shape is fun to use!

Overall, eos organic lip balm spheres earn 4 out of 5 stars and are highly recommended! I can’t wait to try the other flavors, including Pomegranate Raspberry, Summer Fruit, Sweet Mint, and Honeysuckle Honeydew.

Hello, are all of the EOS lip balms organinc? and are they cruelty free? I am an Arbonne Consultant and I like to compare. I have used eos for a couple of years now.. and I am just looking to provide better options for my family.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

I had a horrible reaction to EOS. Not sure which flavor because I bought a 5 pack at Costco and use them all (one in my purse, one in tbe car, one on my nightstand etc). They were fine for a while, then my lips got terrible dry and red, with reddening around my entire mouth. The first time it happened, I thought I sunburned my lips but then it happened again and I realized it was the lip balm. I’ve since read many stories online of the same thing happening to other people. I really think they need to change their formulation. I suspect it might be the linalool but not positive.
